Subject: Lawn chemicals

I need to kill mostly Canadian thistle and creeping Charlie on my lawn. The tough part is that I have a lot of young (4 year, 4 foot tall) oak and Hackberry trees that I don't want to hurt. I have 2, 4-d but I don't dare spray that too close to the trees because of the volatility. Can anyone tell me if Stinger and Milestone are volatile and if they'll hurt my trees? I don't have any experience with them but I've been told that's what I want for the creeping Charlie and thistles. Any help is appreciated!
