Subject: Anyone have a fix for Sukup powersweep chains breaking?

SE Wyoming

Lots of posts in the archives of people having the same problem.

Just wondering if someone has found a cure?

The drive chain from the center gearbox to the sweep gearbox breaks, and you have to unload two semi loads with shovels, and the vac to gain just enough access to repair it.  Chain on this bin was new, and tight, the problem seems to be; the box it is all mounted to distorts and the chain rubs itself apart.  I've tried everything short of dynamite to make a repair last, new sprockets didn't help, new chains may get you a third of the way around if you are lucky. Alignment with a straight edge didn't seem to make a difference.  The only thing that has remotely helped is making sure the connector link is on the top side of the chain, and the open end facing away from the direction of travel.  The cotter pin style of connector is a no go/never try again type thing.

Bins are 48' with 8 inch outbound auger.  Wheat only no other crops.

Thank you- JJ
