Subject: Does anyone know how the fuel injection system works on a JD 445 lawnmower?

Yesterday the mower quit. The spark was good and the mower would run if I dumped gas down the carb. If I remove the gas line at the carburetor I have good flow for 5-10 seconds then the fuel pump shuts off. I assume the fuel injector must be bad or it's not getting electric signal. Any input would be appreciated.
