N.C. IA | Thought I would tear this old timer down to put some new brake shoes on the right side. Took top cover off and nut holding the top of the calipers together. Question is on bottom side, is the slotted pin that goes through the axle housing the pin I need to take out for the bottom of the calipers? If it is, this is gonna stink. Pulled the keeper off and used the rosebud on it and still nothing moving, and to think after only 65 years it's rusted tight! Any help is appreciated.
Side note; called local dealer to see if parts were available before teardown. Parts guy calls back and says yes, we have a set in stock for $75. Couldn't believe it. | |
