Subject: JD 7000 planter problem continued

Rivers, MB
Thanks for the help for those that commented earlier this week.

Bit of background. 3 cylinders were rebuilt on our 16 row 7000 front fold planter. When we put them back on, got lots of air in the system.

Was able to bleed all the air out of the system, get everything unfolded and working properly. So I thought

Was folded up. Was going to unfold it one more time just to make sure all was working properly. Heard a bang and the end of one of the main cylinders broke off.

In my bleeding the air out of the hyd system, their was one cylinder (the one that broke) that was not retracting all the way when rephrasing. When I bled the air out, it pulled in flush like the other one so I thought all was well.

Any ideas what caused this? And how to prevent this.

Additional info. The cylinder that broke tonite was NOT the one that was rebuilt this winter.
