Subject: Height switch needed to run Precision 20/20 SeedSense?

NW Iowa
I picked up a used Gen 1 20/20 SeedSense monitoring system for a JD 1760 ground drive planter, no row flow or Air Force. My only question is will I need to install a height switch on this planter? It does not act like I needed one according to the manual but guess I was assuming I would need it. On each end dad will clutch, raise the planter and turn around, what will trigger the recording off if there is no height switch? No reading from the seed tube sensors? Just installed last night so have not tried it out yet. If anyone knows if I need a switch of not that would be great to know, thanks!
