Rubber and  similar type   products mostly don't react well to petroleum based lubricants and protectants..

What about those products and things like Never Seize ?

The specific application  that started me thinking about this is the meter rollers on Flexicoil aircart, so that they are a little easier to  disassemble the rubber  next time the center bearing needs replaced.
