SW Ohio | Looking to plant some soft red fall 2017. I recently aquired a pair of 1560s with SI belt meters and pop monitor.
Why am I planting wheat?
Bring forward cash flow, rotation benefits (weed,tilth,fertility), increase gross production(dc sb), tiling, manure application and organic matter from straw.
The plan?
Spray residue mix on corn stalks, disk with double baskets, plant X population?, topdress, herbicide, topdress, fungicide, harvest wet, dried.
My plan is raw and I welcome criticism. Break even with land costs and wheat production costs, double crops and better corn/sb in the future bc of adding wheat to rotation is the real profits. Wheat, the vehicle, if you will. | |
