| It's bone dry here.. with some locations running about 4" below normal. Some producers have stopped sowing wheat as there is not enough moisture to establish emergence... it's bone dry 4" deep..here.
The weekly crop progress report.. ( http://usda.mannlib.cornell.edu/usda/current/CropProg/CropProg-10-1... ) shows below average emergence for Tx, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado.. aka Southern Plains as well as Oregon in the PNW.
Rains are still forecast to come into the area.. but precipitation amounts now look less then initially forecast..
This does look good..
but THIS is a bigger hole to fill.. which I believe is actually lagging.. as our area is most certainly in drought conditions by now.. Ks looks similar to Tx..imho.
plus you still have the AMO/PDO cycle pointing to dryness this winter in the Northern Plains/Cornbelt..
We don't get these rains.. all heck is gonna break loose.. Crop prospects right now are poor.
