Subject: Feeding Vomitoxin rye screenings

S.E. Iowa

We have some rye screenings that have a vomitoxin level of 11,4. We are looking at mixing this with corn and feeding it to cows just as an energy source. I would like to roll the corn and screenings. I cut and pasted the following off Dairyland Labs web site. If I am reading this right at a 3 or 4 pounds per head per day free choice hay, there is nothing to worry about. Hearing the stories on here, locally. and personally about the rejected loads of wheat this last summer there should be people arrested for stealling at the elevator.
