Subject: CIH or any companies printed manuals

Wood Lake, MN
There was a discussion, a few post down on the list, with CIH not making the manuals available online. Just wondering how much CIH or any company actually makes on printed manuals, I would guess alot of the price goes to the printing of them. Then how many do you print, if you print to many the profit you did make on the ones you sold just went into covering the costs of ones you didn't sell. Especially with AFS stuff with the manuals being out of date so fast with new version coming out 2 times a year. a CIH rep said they plan on coming out with 2 major updates a year and then any minor patches as needed. Now on tech manuals and part manuals they probably do make money on those.

Maybe I'm way off and they might make alot of money on manuals but with the AFS manuals I can't believe they make much if any.
