Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80 | A couple years ago, Dad got a cracker plate from Koomia.(We were driving by their business)
They didn't have the mount package (bolts, etc) so we just got the new cracker plate and drove home. Later, they mailed some stuff to us. Well, their bolts were too short and so were the bushings. Honestly, I don't know if they sent us the right stuff, or wrong stuff. I drove to the CAT dealer and got longer grade 8 bolts and drove to hardware store for longer bushings (both pieces for lower "pivot" holes) I cleaned threads, in cracker plate, to make sure I didn't have to fight with them, after plate was in the machine and trying to align holes; then everything went together fine.
Edit: JD 3960 chopper 2nd Edit: If those were the correct parts, that they sent, then those lower bolts would have NEVER stayed tight, with their short (too short) bushing = The lower bolts would want to tighten on framework, but never got bushings tight, thus bolt could have easily vibrated loose, during operation. Longer bushings and longer bolts cured this.= bolt and bushing tight against cracker plate, on each side, at that lower pivot point. Edited by 4WD 9/7/2014 21:08 | ||

Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80 | Our JD screens, use solid pins, with an outer u-shaped piece of metal, with 1/2" bolt that holds the solid "pivot" pin in place. This Koomia cracker plate is different, they use threads on the plate itself(internally), at the lower "pivot" area, thus bolts and spacers(bushings) are needed. (Can't use Factory JD hardware, for screens)
