East central Iowa | I've seen some comments that you should upgrade or only buy Windows 8 because Microsoft is ending support for Windows 7 in January 2015.
If you want a system that is stable and runs your programs, Windows 7 is a viable choice. It has no steep learning curve from XP or Vista and it doesn't require new hardware. It should be more than adequate for those doing bookwork, emailing, and browsing the web. Six years from now you might need a new computer. So you should be good.
Edit: I'm posting here because most of you never visit the Computer forum until you mess something up.
