Ellsworth, Wisconsin | I have an EGR question. I have a 2012 golf TDI automatic that a bought brand new it has about 60k on it. I was listening to radio sitting at a light this morning but I noticed that the tach was bouncing from 800-950. I quickly shut everything off and listened. I could clearly hear it boucing up and down in RPM. It almost sounds like it's running on 3 cylinders. I took off and at the next light it was back to normal.
I know very little about engines, just the basics but my guess is it's a computer program that it runs to add a load during a regen? It's done this before and I shut it off while it was doing it. It Instantly went into a regen cool down where it ran the fan for about 10 minutes when did that. It was just at the dealer the other day for service and everything was fine. Any thoughts?
