North of London

I noticed no one posted anything about the US victory in 1813, April 27.

The capture of York, Upper Canada. Now Toronto in Ontario.

Interesting way things happened and the sacking and burning of the parliament as well as other buildings in York set the course of history for the burning of the White House later in the war.

Also the looting and harassment of civilians, which also happened in what is now south western Ontario from Windsor to London, left the civilians angry enough to support the British in repelling and retaliating which helped bring about the closure of the war.
