North Central IN | Been reading, wanted to get some Midwest guys opinions on inoculating beans.
CRP ground, hasn't been tilled or planted to anything but grass for 30-35 years. Rolling clay with some low spots I think will be dark dirt, and minimal tile I'm sure. We purchased the farm a few years ago, have been waiting for CRP to expire. Planning on soybeans this spring.
Know I need to inoculate with something because there hasn't been any legumes on it for a long time. My seed dealer, Becks, offers Optimize and Poncho/Votivo for $5.50/unit. Is this going to be enough? Or do I need to buy other inoculants? Double? What brands? I have Kinze planter with brush meters, so I think that rules out the liquid forms.
As well as thoughts on my other ground for inoculant? Similar soils, just never have done it before, usually raise 45-55 bushel beans. | |
