Subject: survey on corn ethanol plants

SE Iowa
Was wondering what differences there are from one ethanol plant to another depending on ownership and/or location. Our local plant will take corn to 18% moisture and dock starts at 15.5% and avg moisture for the day, unlike local elevators that dock at 15% and do not avg moisture. Dock is only 1.15% at our plant also. We also put in an extractor to remove the corn oil. DDG's that were a worry before construction started are now a huge plus for local livestock, good source for low cost feed. Bigger plans for the corn kernel's immediate future will really open up new ground to where the name " ethanol plant "does not fit its description any more. Can't wait!
