Central NE | Has anyone else here thought about going back to manual bookeeping?
I have had two windows xp computers fail in the last month. Both were isolated from the internet and used in the office. One had a motherboard fail, the other a harddrive failure. Parts no longer available or aren't replaceable.
I spent a lot of money on a new computer with 8.1, but can't run my old software (except in a virtual machine which has brought complication after complication).
Data is no longer safe on new computing systems. It doesn't seem to even be possible to build and use a system without ever hooking to the internet or download off it.
So much time is wasted in front of a screen learning crap that wastes time.
I am to the point I think keeping books the old way might not take any more time as setting up, maintaining, and learning a new system and would not fill my mind with loads of techno-crap.
Anyone else reached this point?
(If my XP computers still worked, I would not be considering this)
