Subject: Greenstar RTK problem

NW NSW Australia
We have recently been experiencing poor reception of the base signal due to what we thought was bird damage to the short floppy aerial, so we have now installed a high gain one with low loss cable so the birds can no longer roost and chew.

Unfortunately it wasn't the problem. The setup was an original starfire as the base and an itc as rover. Where we would lose signal intermittently it become more prolonged and extend would only last 2 min instead of 15min. With the new aerial we had no correction at all.

So by swapping various bits around I have found both radios and all aerials are good the itc will act as a rover and a base however the original starfire will only act as a rover and will not go into extend mode at all. The base had been running in absolute for 2hr plus when I could still get no extend mode.

I have updated the software on the original, it has done 26,500 hrs.

Any ideas?
