I didn't understand one part.  It talks about the power grid being destroyed.  However would it have an impact on electric motors?  Would your car run, could you generate electricity?

If not it would seem that we would be in dire straits as we couldn't run farm machinery, couldn't transport food or goods, couldn't do 99% of the things we do to exist in this modern world.
