Subject: How many have locked in corn for '14?

Tip of the Thumb of Michigan

I've been looking at cost of production here and $4ish will make me okay money.  If I hta for jan. delivery and get the "usual basis"  I could be in the neighborhood of $4.45 cash.  I have none of my hopeful bushel done yet.  Just some cheapo puts.   I can forward contract about 12,000 and be very safe.

I am usually very heavily contracted come harvest time and it has served me very well over the last 15 years.  I would rather get $4 for my first 100bu/a and get $6 for my last 70bu/a than  get $4 for first 100bu and be right with $3.30 for the last 70.

Just curious were others are at right now.
