I am reading up on the claims various companies have regarding the range of their systems. Some of them claim to have significantly higher range than others. For example, one of the more highly regarded companies, Trimble says they have a range of 6 miles. One of the newer players, mojoRTK says they have a range of 16 miles. Trimble is claiming 1" accuracy while mojo is claiming 2". Maybe this is the reason for the difference in range? Can the Trimble system pull of 2" accuracy at 16 miles?

Australia | The fact is that some companies do RTK better than others. It all depends what their engineers focus on. All RTK receivers lose accuracy as you get further from the base; some however have been designed to manage the accuracy loss better than others. Note that many people confuse RTK baseline accuracy with radio range. The two issues are very separate problems. Here is a link to the mojoRTK accuracy statement if you are technically inclined: http://www.mojortk.com/leica-web/app/content//public/2inch.pdf http://www.mojortk.com/leica-web/app/content//public/compare_gps.pd... I have been up to 22 miles from a Trimble station combining beans with no problems. Actual measured cutting sickle width of 34'8". Set the swath width at 34'6" and ran for a couple of days and never left a bean.
