West Central Alberta Coldest, wettest edge | I expect this post is already lost down the page, so I though I would repost it here, along with my response. This was in response to Gottliebs thread where other posters prophesized that the end is near: Economic output has expanded for at least the last 300 years and has really accelerated in the last 125. Betting on the next collapse has been a bad wager for a long time. The world has shown a tendency to consume whatever food and energy producers have been able to supply. I am not willing to make a large wager that it is different this time solely due to an exceptionally large N. American crop in 2013. Not leveraging up for a huge bull run either but the next hiccup in production will cause another price spike in both food and energy as sure as the sun rises in the East. |
