Don't you think there might be enough big iron out there for quite some time, like for the next 20 years?? Drove by my Dad-in-laws farm the other day bought 10 years ago by BTO's. Farm cost him $9600 for 160 acres in 1948. Needed a lot of work, gullies you could almost hide a B JD. Put in terraces, contoured 17 acre permanent pasture and three 48 acre woven-wired fields. It was sold 10 years ago and first thing BTO did was tear up permanent pasture where the topsoil is so thin grass had never been fully established since 1948. My brother and I started farming 1100 acres in 1965 with 3 gas 706's. Now this farm needs 500 HP?? There is so much JD equipment at AHW in Melvin I won't have to drive 25 miles to see it - the line will be up here!! The size of this stuff is insane.
