Subject: Claas 900 engine troubles

Adrian MI
We have a Claas 900 forage harvester that the engine dampener keeps breaking off. We broke the 3rd one Friday......after the 2nd one broke we found a bearing out in the main drive gear box and replaced that. Thought we were good to go until Friday when the dampener broke again. No one has ever heard of this problem before and now they think there may be something wrong with the engine. So they want to pull the engine and check it out. The engine appears to run fine and has lots of power. We are a little hesitant to pull the engine and not find anything wrong, but need to figure out why they keep breaking. Any other ideas? The last dampener lasted about 30 hours before it broke.

Thanks!
Jason
