Subject: r52 with deutz head temp sensor

I've had issues with the head temp sensor on my r52 at the tail end of harvest -- bad sensor, but by the time I got a new one I was done. (another great AGCO dealer that could care less) Question is this -- went to put it in today and there are actually 2 in the engine -- one that is bigger that threads into more of the "jug" area -- the other is smaller and threads into the outside lip of the head at the top. both the sensors that are on there now are bad by the ohm meter -- but which style is better, and is there any difference between the two? The one that goes in the top was actually in the 5th head back from the fan while the other one was in the last one (6th and furthest) from fan. Just curious which is better, and I'm assuming being on the last jug is best cause it'd get the least air movement. Not a bid deal - just curious as to why they'd have 2 different sensor types.
