Subject: Corn following rye

central Ia.
Anybody do this? We are wanting to start doing this on 45 acres, chop the corn, apply hog manure, seed rye, then stick the cows on it around the first of the year, calve on it then kill it off and plant to corn for chopping again and continue following this program. Local agronomist says it will cost me bushels as the rye will have auto toxicity toward the corn. Don't know how concerned I am with the lower yield ( he says 6-8 b/a). Just wondering others opinions.
