Northeast Iowa | I have a heifer that came in open this spring, and we started to pump the corn to her to fatten her up as opposed to selling her at say 900 pounds. I have pretty high standards as to meat quality in the freezer market. So her diet has been, grass last summer, corn silage and hay last winter, and we have been pumping her with corn for the last few months. She is ready for a date with the locker, but I don't think I have had one this old before. Does anybod have any expierance with butchering a calf that is say 28 months old? | |
