south central IOWA | With all the talk about tedding hay and the university's studies on pan evaporation and all. How does this hay dry down so fast in a 3ft or so windrow out of the conditioner? It's a 3 day process for us. Mow in afternoon on day 1, sit for a day, then on day 3 we rake and bale. Baled dry and the bales have a nice green color to them. I don't understand the literature I've read about making hay so can someone explain this to me? The pictures of raking, that field made 37 bales out of a JD 567 on 12.5 acres. The last ones are what I mowed yesterday and today. Hope it don't rain. :)
Oh yeah......running a skunk through the mower is not cool!!!
