Up in my part of the world, you can buy new crop corn at a $-.30Z basis. A $5 cash price seems to work good when looking at finishing cattle Q4/Q1.
I'm just educating myself on the livestock side of the business, so how does $5 cash corn pencil out for your operation given today's feeder and fat prices (for Q4/Q1)? Any insight would be appreciated.
