West Central MN | The Minnesota and South Dakota Border Lake Fishing Opener was today (April 20th).
Big Stone Lake is one of these lakes and the lake still has 24 to 30 inches of ice on it. Most people were walking out onto the ice, but a few did drive ATV's on the lake even the though the ice is pretty thin by shore.

In case anyone is wondering, the latest recorded ice out for Big Stone Lake is April 27th. I think we will beat that easily this year. There is also a major fishing tournament scheduled for the lake next weekend which I'm sure will end up being cancelled. | |
