Subject: floor heat in room addition

N Illinois (I39 & US 30)
15 years ago we added an addition on the house. Same construction characteristics as the original house, but on extending the ducts etc, we just don't get the heat as efficiently as the rest of the house. I was thinking about some floor heat would help. One thought was a small boiler with tubes under the floor. The floor is laminate and I was wondering when we replace that, is there some kind of electric grid that could be put down just under the floating floor? Any thoughts?
