Apparently, my pear trees aren't big enough--it's a partridge on my 4440, on Christmas Eve!
He let me get pretty close. Obviously, he's used to people being around, with 12 drummers drumming, 11 pipers piping, 10 lords leaping, 9 ladies dancing and 8 maids milking to contend with all the time. He was probably just looking for a quiet place to sit, away from all the commotion.
Got back from chores and this was in my shed:
