Significant Weather Hazards Possible on Christmas Day for the Central United StatesA developing storm system in the Deep South could bring a plethora of weather hazards to the central United States on Christmas Day. Severe thunderstorms capable of damaging winds and tornadoes are possible for portions of the Lower Mississippi River Valley and southeast U.S. Meanwhile, widespread heavy snow could evolve from eastern Oklahoma into the western Tennessee and Ohio River Valleys. By Wednesday morning, it is expected to be centered in northern Kentucky. This type of track would favor the potential for heavy snow across portions of eastern Illinois and western Indiana.
