Scary dry in central Ne., we didn't get the rain alot of you got from the hurricane in august . Now the local weatherman says expect record temps this weekend . We have a driveway alert on our driveway at our home. It goes off when ever something steps in front of it , and lately it has been going off alot because of the wild animals coming up to our yard insearch of water . I know it sounds nuts but its true. I going to set out a tub of water so they can drink out by the driveway instead of coming right up to the house . Streams , ponds, and road ditches are dry. Farm ground moisture is completely gone . If we have normal winter precip ,,,,,,,it won't be sufficent to get a crop started, let alone raise a crop. Weatherman said the storm in cailf will dry up when it hits the rockies. Even the old timers say they have never seen it like this before . If this trend continues, we are in serious trouble . It has been 7 months in a row for us .
