Subject: How do the JD S/N's work?

Central Kansas
Example: 8310T901009 is a 2000 model tractor. 8310T902009 should be a 2001 model. Is this 009 the 9th tractor built in the 8310T series? If so, there would never be a 009 tractor in the 8310T series built in 2001,........right?

Can there be a 8410T with the exact S/N,............just the 8310T is replaced by the 8410T(901 designates a 2000 model and the 902, a 2001 model).

Now if you can digest that with your Turkey, correct me if I'm wrong.
