Subject: 190 no turbo starting problems

N.B. Canada
I just had the fuel injection pump rebuilt on a plain 190. It was working good but was leaking on the throttle shaft & the shut off shaft. After we put it back in place we have really have trouble starting it. The first time we installed it one of the seals on the shaft got damaged & the fuel drained in the oil pan, then took it back out reinstalled it with a new seal & new motor oil still real hard to start. The shop that did the rebuilt said that usually when they do a rebuilt on a pump they also do the injectors. To me when you change a carburator you do not always change the spark plugs. We have to use the priming pump then it will start after a while. It looks like it gets out of prime after it sits for an hour or so, I don't know how it can loose it's prime because it is gravity feed. I don't know where to look for now. Thanks
