Subject: corn/soybean revisited

Upstate Ny
maybe we shouldnt be looking at how many day corn because companys are not all equal. i looked online and at some seed books. for example growing degree units to black layer in the 2300 range here dekalb and growmark rates it hybrids at 92 day, croplan has 2300 at 88 day and pioneer has 2300 at 97 day. my neighbor tells me plant 92 day all the time but hes pioneer, im dekalb. do these companys vary on beans too?? why is there no set stantard for maturities???
