| I have five acres of HEL land I broke out of pasture and no-tilled beans into. Made 23 bushel, so I think it was worth it considering what I get for pasture rent.
The field it's connected to had 40 bushel no-till beans on corn stalks.
I typically do conventional till for corn and will probably chisel plow the rest of the field then field cultivate it next spring and plant corn. FSA doesn't like tillage on the HEL, obviously.
If I no-till corn into the HEL land, what kind of results am I gonna see? When is the ground gonna start acting like it has always been farm ground and not see such a drag in yields? | |
