West KY, Miss River County
I appreciate the charts and discussion from down below. The action/games played in the markets now will be the story. During the growing season Mizzo Tiger, Terra, and others kept us focused and aware of the growing pains felt by all. As harvest winds down, it now becomes a shell game of who has the grain, where it is, and how much grain is there. Historically, as the grain moves into commercial control, prices will rise as they barter with each other what value they have on it. Basis will help us realize where the grain is-and isn’t. Later strength will give us the winter/spring increase as end users-both domestic and overseas- bid to buy and ship grain to where the need is at the time.

The work of the market will now become evident as the holders of the grain, both producers and commercials, attempt to be rewarded for their astuteness and users are forced to pay for their poor planning and short supplies.
The psychology of the participants will give us the waves, channels, trends, and whales that help us market the remaining grain we hold, or participate in the speculative side, betting on the bull or bear we feel has this all figured out.

Again thanks to the charters that share their perspective with ‘the rest of us’.
