Central Nebraska | Dad planted about 50 acres of 97 day corn (pretty short season for us) and it hand shelled at 14.5% yesterday, so we got going today. He usually plants some shorter stuff early so we can get the combine out and get everything ready to go. The 107-109 day corn is probably 10-14 days out yet. Might be cutting some beans by the end of next week. Would've got started earlier, but we were waiting until this morning for the combine to get out of the shop.
The corn is doing a lot better than I expected, by 15-20bu. This is Channel 197-67VT3P on gravity irrigated ground, planted at 32k. The load I took in today was at 14% moisture, 59lb TW.
