Subject: Silage length of cut

West Central Iowa
Will be cutting silage soon and will be using a chopper without a kernel processor. What targeted cut length should I use. I believe the book has settings for 1/4", 3/8", or 3/4". The moisture would be in the "ideal" range, it will be put into a silage bag, and will be fed to beef cows. When feeding it this winter the ration will be around 40% silage and and 60% ground hay (mainly CRP).
