SW Saskatchewan | Since we have been travelling the wife doesn't can chokecherry pancake syrup anymore and I need something to go with those wonderful oatmeal pancakes from northern Alberta! Commercial Saskatoons are just water with purple skin and any flavor doesn't exist anymore. Just like the grape sized BC high bush blueberries.
Guess I will just have to find a hutterite colony where they make the chokecherry syrup-but maybe Manitoba is too far east to get good berries.
Other thing is maybe I could find some of GinNB's native blueberries if I knew where to look-anyone know a store that carries REAL blueberries-at home the Cypress Hill's variety is heavily guarded-if you do someone a real favor, they might reward you next year with a pint of blueberries-but you couldn't buy them for any price. Will the Maine or NB berries be on the market soon?
