SESD Sious Falls | This weather is the devil. It looks like to me that the extreme southern cornbelt may have a small chance for scattered showers coming up, but their corn crop is largely beyond help at this point and the amounts won't be very heavy. The northern cornbelt has time to make or break the corn crop there with rains right now, but there is no rain except for ND and northern MN. And the northwest corn belt has a long range outlook for below avg. precipitation and everybody in the corn belt looks to have a 30 day above average temp. which for July is already plenty hot. Its pretty devilish to hit the southern cornbelt with drought early enough to take that crop down and then wait until the opportune time to come along with a drought in the north at the perfect time to take down a good crop there as well.
Maybe some rains will arrive in time to save the beans. We can only hope. | |
