Subject: Tillers coming off of corn plants

Noticed today that on the best parts of the fields that about every corn plant has a tiller coming off of it. The corn is about 2 foot tall or more. V4-V5. Will this hurt the yield or should I worry about it? Very dry here yet. Population is about 25,000.
