I planted some milo thursday. I loaded up with roundup and milo pro this morning, roaded over there and it's up! Not just a few plants, it's all up! I've got some Johnson grass and various other grasses that would have burned down real easily. There is some vine weeds also. I know I can hit it with 2-4D and atrazine when it's 3 or 4 inches tall, but what will that kill? Anything else I can spray for grass? At least I burned it down prob 3 weeks ago so its not terribly out of shape, but it's still bad news.

As of this morning when I went over there, the last row had only been in the ground about 85 hours!

1qt ATZ and 1qt COC...........:).............will not cure the johnson grass but will do alot on the other stuff.........:)

Mix some Paramount in with your Atrazine and you will control grasses and broadleaf weeds.

Had the same thing happen to me , missed a pass in the field , saw it crop touring Sunday, figured I would get it today, This morning it was up to a full stand. Going to hit it with atrazine and oil then later with Peak.

I would strongly consider going ahead with the roundup and scheduling a replant in a few days.

That's probably the best plan but logistics kind of prevent that from happening.

I'm in pretty good shape on the Johnson grass... Just a few patches In the bottoms of terraces. I got a really good kill a few weeks ago.

What a mess. Of course this is a no till field right on one of the most heavily traveled highways in an area where "no till wont work."

If the johnsongrass is just a few small patches what about spot spraying roundup with a backpack sprayer or 4-wheeler and a hand wand. Patrick

I don't know if you have access to a hooded sprayer or not, but last year I had 280 acres of milo that the pre didn't work at all and we had grass like you can't imagine. I used our hooded sprayer to go right between the rows using straight roundup. Took care of it pretty good. It's easier however to do that when the milo is more like knee high. Good luck!

Use lumax herbicide to begin with, pricey but works for me. Got tired of aforementioned problems!
