Thinking about expanding the cow/calf side of the farm, but hesitant to do so because it does not appear to be easy to put risk management into place. Are there any ways to protect yourself against down markets in cow/calf? Or am I going to be taking a huge risk with the farm I just bought? Farm would only be expanded to 80-100 head from the current 40 head.
