Kaukauna WI
Economic Impact
In 2007 (the last time the American Sheep Industry Association updated its website), retail lamb and wool, wholesale pelts, variety meats, meal, tallow and sheep cheese sales were almost $768 million.
These retail receipts support an additional $1.4 billion in economic activitiy for
a total economic impact of $2.2 billion.

In 2010, the Wisconsin dairy industry alone had an economic impact of $26.5 billion.

Maybe this should be in the Boiler Room, but this is part of the reason why there is a lot of discussion around the 2012 Farm Bill relating to dairy policy, and not so much for sheep policy.
