My wife also has one of the Pampered Chef ones and they work slick. No sharp edges when you are done. You can set the lid back on and put it in fridge if you don't use it all. I think Tupperwear has one almost like it. They are both kind of pricey but they work.

I'd have a real tough time keeping track of time that way! ;-)

Have had good luck with my Oxo. Had one that cut the side of the can so no sharp edges. Worked great for about 4 or 5 years then started nut cutting deep enough. Went back to a regular Oxo.

I still use a hand cranker that's bolted to the wall. Wood handle knob, getting old but still works well.

Sometimes I feel like just resorting to opening the can with my teeth, like how Mexicans open beer bottles.

Have been using a Pampered Chef for 7 or 8 years now, still works like the day we bought it.

My SIL has a Pampered Chef hand crank one. But I bought a Hamilton Beach side cutting electric unit and it works great. On a side note, I'd like to thank the people at Progresso Soup for putting the easy open lids on their soup cans.

We have a black & Decker "space maker" , electric under cabinet model. Has worked great for 6 years now and so easy as it is power operated.

I'm still using an old "Daisy" hand cranked can opener from the early 1960s.

Michigan.
Screw all the new china made junk. I gave up and went hunting antique shops for a proper good old made in U.S.A. butterfly crank can opener.

Found a couple old Eko units that were like new. The only drawback to them is if you drop them, they hurt instead of breaking or bending, and there is no warranty...they don't need one.
