It seems a specimen container that contained coccidioidites broke accidentally in a local hospital lab. They shut the lab, quarantined the staff, took all their stuff including clothing and made them shower using a bleach solution. All the lab equipment will have to be cleaned. Since it's the biggest hospital in the area, this is causing a mess since they don't have a lab. Surgeries are being canceled, etc.

So my question is, is this really that big a deal? They did say there is a higher concentration of spores in a lab sample.
